Drake University and Simpson College are expanding full-tuition scholarship programs for Iowa high school students, with Drake lowering its Bulldog Promise GPA requirement to 3.5 for fall 2026 and Simpson expanding its High School Promise to include Iowa City and Cedar Rapids students—both moves aim to reduce financial barriers for future enrollees.

Johnson County’s new supervisor districts will be drawn by the state’s Legislative Services Agency using a worksheet based on the 2020 census, with each district aiming to have about 30,600 residents.
