On Thursday, 85-year-old Douglas Johnson died when he was found unresponsive in a small pond on Deborah Drive NE in Solon after he went to trim weeds and emergency responders arrived at 6:51 p.m.—investigators say no foul play is suspected.

Maria Dorman (19) led police on a chase along Highway 218 and Highway 1 south of Iowa City at 8:33 p.m. on Thursday, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour before she stopped and later told officers (she had never been caught speeding that fast) as she was arrested and charged with eluding law enforcement.
