The University of Iowa’s Scanlan Center for School Mental Health is addressing a gap in crisis support by contacting school administrators for tailored services days after events like fatal car crashes, suicide or natural disasters—Taylor Ford, the UI Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Crisis Response, said the services extend support beyond the initial stabilization period. The program will evolve this year as state needs change.
