- ➤ The University of Iowa’s Scanlan Center for School Mental Health is addressing a gap in crisis support by contacting school administrators for tailored services days after events like fatal car crashes, suicide or natural disasters—Taylor Ford, the UI Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Crisis Response, said the services extend support beyond the initial stabilization period. - ➤ Wildthunder’s Tracey Belle answered a call on January 29th at 9:30 a.m. when she rescued an injured bald eagle with a broken leg near a communications tower in Walker—she then provided $1,500 in surgeries and now cares for about eight eagles, noting that lead poisoning from hunting ammunition often causes these injuries.
