31— the nonprofit announced that Matt Majeski will start as her successor on Jan. 1.

Volunteers in the Winter Weather Warriors program cleared snow on driveways in the South District and Longfellow neighborhoods on Sunday and will continue to help local residents like Rose Mann throughout the snowy season+ they offer ongoing support to neighbors facing challenges.

University of Iowa held the inaugural UI Center for Intellectual Freedom event Saturday at the Old Capitol with Gov. Kim Reynolds, legislators, and regents in attendance.

The center, commissioned by the Legislature, was designed to protect free academic thought and encourage respectful debate + guide future educational reform.

Iowa nursing advocates expressed concerns over a proposed change to the Department of Education's professional degree definition that excluded nursing, which they said would lower enrollment and limit loan access, worsening local shortages.

The department may revise the proposal after receiving public input.
