Community leaders and local property owners have developed draft plans for three strategic investment districts in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty—plans outline mixed-use development, improved transportation, and public art with progress expected through 2030.

On November 30, Kitty Corner Social Club celebrated its 200th cat adoption in Iowa City—marking eight months of matching cats with adopters as co-founder Cooper Brown noted the milestone helps reduce the number of cats on the streets.

Last November, volunteers gathered in Coralville at the University of Iowa’s Center for the Book to harvest kozo trees and process mulberry fibers into Japanese-style paper.

The paper—used to repair the Constitution and preserve rare books—upholds a 30-year tradition started by Professor Emeritus Timothy Barrett.
