GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Polk County pledged $200,000 Tuesday morning to Iowa’s Water Quality Information System using leftover ARPA funds and water assessment dollars to run 80 monitors, a step taken after previous funding cuts. County Chair Matt McCoy said he hopes Linn and Johnson counties will join in and that lawmakers will work to restore the cut funds next year—this pledge is now a firm budget commitment. KCRG
