Johnson County will host free Welcoming Week events from Sept.
10 to Sept. 19 to celebrate its Certified Welcoming Community status; the week features a community picnic at Coralville Public Library on Sept. 10, a panel at Iowa City Public Library on Sept. 11, and cultural activities downtown.
🎭 Culture
Iowa City approved a nearly $2 million arts endowment fund on August 18 to support six local organizations using revenue from a new Local Option Sales Tax.
The fund will gradually replace general support over the next six years as investment earnings grow.
