- ➤ On Aug. 31, a Polk County District Court ordered Pennsylvania insurer SHIP PA to pay $481,500 in penalties for breaking an injunction that barred it from sending unapproved rate change mailers to elderly Iowa policyholders. The ruling — part of a long dispute that began in 2022 — shows that the insurer’s repeated actions have confused many Iowans. Iowa City Press-Citizen
