On Aug. 31, a Polk County District Court ordered Pennsylvania insurer SHIP PA to pay $481,500 in penalties for breaking an injunction that barred it from sending unapproved rate change mailers to elderly Iowa policyholders.
The ruling — part of a long dispute that began in 2022 — shows that the insurer’s repeated actions have confused many Iowans.
After Kyle Konrardy kicked a 54-yard field goal with 1:52 left to beat Iowa 16-13 on Saturday, Iowa State climbed to No. 14 in the AP Top 25 poll—top teams like Ohio State, Penn State, and LSU held their spots while South Florida entered the rankings after upset wins.
The move marks a significant leap for Iowa State following their close Cy-Hawk victory.
