- ➤ University of Iowa reported its first crime alert for the fall when officials detailed a reported sexual assault in a west side residence hall early Monday— the alleged perpetrator was an acquaintance of the victim and bystander guidance was provided. The Gazette

- ➤ Iowa environmental advocates sent a letter to Iowa’s congressional delegation urging review of the PERMIT Act because it would limit Clean Water Act protections and could lead to more water pollution and flooding in our rivers. - ➤ Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty city councils plan to put a 1% LOST tax on the November 4 ballot so that half the revenue eases property taxes and raises more than $22 million per year for projects like a new recreation center, affordable housing and a fire station.
