- ➤ A Johnson County nonprofit, Houses into Homes, is helping more Coralville families coming out of homelessness by furnishing homes with needed furniture and linens as demand grows this summer. The group served 66 households and now has 47 clients waiting+ volunteers like Else Chardt are doubling their days to support the need. KCRG
- ➤ Iowa City is selling a vacant lot valued at $270,000 to the Domestic Violence Intervention Program — a nonprofit that received $2.5 million in HOME-ARP funds to build six affordable townhomes for domestic abuse survivors on the east side. Construction will finish by spring and occupancy is expected by 2027 using a 0% interest city loan that will be forgiven if the homes remain affordable for 20 years. Iowa City Press-Citizen

- ➤ Iowa City shared the EPA air quality report results Friday after receiving odor reports tied to industrial activity in 2024. The EPA testing showed minimal toluene levels of 58.8 to 425 parts per billion and benzene below 3 parts per billion—findings that are far below levels known to impact human health. KCRG
