Downtown Iowa City’s Ten Thousand Villages has rebranded as Mosaic Iowa City, which opens today at 109 S Dubuque Street to expand its fair trade mission and support artisans worldwide — the store will hold a grand opening celebration in September and launch online shopping soon.

A state audit at the University of Iowa revealed nearly $300,000 in research spending by Dr. Calvin Carter that lacked proper documentation—auditor Rob Sand confirmed the funds were used only for research.

The university began investigating the transactions, and Carter hopes to resume his work after his time away from the lab.

Iowa City's Climate Action and Outreach division and the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County are asking volunteers to record bicycle travel patterns at key intersections; volunteers will receive training and work shifts from 7 to 9 a.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept.
