- ➤ The University of Iowa College of Law announced that interim dean Tom Pettys, who has been at the school since 1999, will lead the law school for the next two years—his term lasts until 2027. A national search for a permanent dean will begin before his term expires. Iowa City Press-Citizen

- ➤ North Liberty City Council is finalizing a local option sales tax that would let officials decide yearly how to spend funds for capital projects and housing initiatives.
