- ➤ The North Liberty Community Pantry opened its new 10,500-square-foot facility at 350 West Penn Street on June 23 to expand its grocery-style service, now including a Community Closet and a dedicated area where a Johnson County specialist is available twice a month. The pantry expects to serve over 800,000 pounds of food to more than 1,200 families this year—minimizing disruption during its move. Iowa City Press-Citizen

- ➤ Coralville officials reviewed a plan to add cameras that read license plates and alert police if a plate is linked to a suspect; data is erased after 30 days and the city set aside $19,000 for the system. Lt. Mike Merstik said the cameras have already helped solve hit-and-run, missing persons and felony cases — a tool already in use in Cedar Rapids, North Liberty and Dubuque. KCRG
