Last month, Ridgeway firefighters rescued a man trapped in a grain bin in 45 minutes using ropes & harness slings, crediting special training and rescue equipment that helped secure a rare safe outcome from a common farming hazard.

A line of severe storms swept through Eastern Iowa on Tuesday, leaving downed trees, flooded roads, and power outages in Dubuque, Johnson, and Black Hawk counties.

Officials are monitoring the situation with further reports expected soon.
