CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Iowa City police charged Michael Preslicka, 31, on April 27 near Hollywood Boulevard and Taylor Drive after they found him carrying a sword that had a metal blade about 28 inches long hidden in his jacket—Preslicka admitted it was his and his probation with previous felony convictions makes him ineligible to carry dangerous weapons. - ➤ Police arrested 19-year-old Francois Pierre Parker Tuesday at 1:30 a.m.—he is charged with multiple offenses after a man was shot in his vehicle late Monday on the 800 block of Cross Park Avenue and Parker fled on a stolen bike before being found hiding on the 10 block of Gleason Drive with a stolen gun and ammunition. - ➤ Local law enforcement are asking for help finding Christopher Richard Jennings, also known as Casey, who was last seen May 22 on the Benton Street Bridge in Iowa City wearing a black jacket, red and white plaid shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat under a University of Iowa Tigerhawk beanie while carrying a green and brown satchel bag; he is 6-foot-2 with blue eyes and greyish-brown hair, and anyone with information should call the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center at (319) 356-6800.
