- ➤ A man fleeing an Iowa State Patrol officer crashed with another vehicle at the intersection of Governor Street & Market Street in Iowa City on April 22 at 12:37 p.m. when his car struck a utility pole, ignited, and injured both drivers. KCRG
- ➤ Antavus Watson, 44, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Elijah Williams late March on South Gilbert Street—he also faces charges of attempted murder and firearm possession by a felon, with a case conference set for May 16 and a trial planned for July 8.
