EDUCATION NEWS

  • Iowa's public universities propose tuition hikes for the 2025-26 academic year; UI and ISU plan a 3% increase for in-state undergraduates while UNI seeks a 2.7% rise — all pending Iowa Board of Regents approval. The board will review the proposals on April 23–24 and decide at its June meeting if the increases will go into effect.  Iowa City Press-Citizen
  • A University of Iowa student union said five students had their visas revoked by federal officials after a webinar with the Dean of International Programs. Immigration attorney Gunda Brost noted similar cases are reported nationwide—some involving dismissed charges—while the university confirmed it is aware of the situation but cannot share further details due to privacy rules.  KWWL
