- ➤ Renderings show Coralville's $54 million recreation center (over 100,000 sqft) will have indoor pools, basketball courts, and an indoor track. Leaders plan for groundbreaking this summer or fall with an opening set for fall 2028, funded by a local sales tax and a $14 million commitment from Iowa City Schools. KCRG
- ➤ Skywatchers in Iowa City can see the Lyrids meteor shower this week (April 14 to April 30) as it peaks from April 21-22 over dark, rural skies away from city lights. The streaks of light are caused by debris from a passing comet. Iowa City Press-Citizen
- ➤ Eastern Iowa cattlemen have sent over 200 supplement tubs to help Nebraska ranchers cope with wildfires and drought in the Sandhills. The donation can support up to 2,000 cattle for about a month. We Are Iowa
- ➤ Coralville held an open house yesterday at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall, where residents previewed plans for a new rec center featuring an indoor track + workout equipment + pool.
