He encouraged listeners to acknowledge personal biases and engage in open dialogue.
Leaders from the Solon Historical Foundation are raising funds to restore Stone Academy, an 1842 one-room schoolhouse located north of Solon on Highway 1.
The project will repair the roof, stone exterior and interior to preserve its role in early Eastern Iowa education.
