- ➤ Iowa City police arrested 40-year-old Dustin Snyder for driving an excavator on the 2600 block of Muscatine Avenue while intoxicated on Saturday afternoon — he admitted to drinking and posted a .222 BrAC —. KCRG
- ➤ A Iowa City man was charged after police said that on February 26 he asked a 75-year-old victim to leave his car running at Walmart and then stole the vehicle and cellphone—authorities later recovered the phone along I-80. KCRG
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ An Iowa City robotics club—Children of the Corn—qualified for the FIRST Robotics Competition Championship in Houston later this month but still needs to raise funds to cover the $35,000 to $40,000 cost. The team has raised over $20,000 so far and must raise the remaining funds by Wednesday or use next season’s budget to cover the shortfall. KCRG

- ➤ Yesterday the Johnson County Board of Supervisors submitted a formal letter opposing Senate File 75, which changes election rules for county officials in Johnson, Story, and Black Hawk Counties.
