- ➤ Iowa City police arrested 44-year-old Antavis Watson on charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and firearm control after he fatally shot 38-year-old Elijah Williams on S. Gilbert Street last week when a feud led him to fire multiple shots into a car, and he appeared in court Wednesday while being held on combined cash-only bail of $1,255,000. The Gazette
- ➤ A Johnson County jury on Friday convicted a 26-year-old Chicago man of sexually assaulting an Iowa City woman while she slept on October 7, 2018 — he now faces a 10-year prison sentence. The Gazette

- ➤ Iowa City Regina Catholic junior Ella Keune was named the Press-Citizen's Student of the Week after earning a 4.0+ GPA in seven AP and three honors courses, competing on state-qualifying sports teams, and completing over 300 volunteer hours—her achievements set her apart among local high school students.
