State and federal health data show that methamphetamine overdose deaths have overtaken opioid deaths statewide, with Johnson County recording higher stimulant overdoses since 2020; the DEA reported a 54% increase in pure meth seizures and health officials warn there is no reversal drug.

Iowa Health Care surgeon Ramy El-Diwany performed the state's first robotic kidney removal in December, a procedure that may allow more donors with unique anatomies to be eligible.

He said more young surgeons training with the robot could increase its use and improve outcomes (though it is not standard yet).

The Hawkeyes secured a spot in the Sweet 16 on Sunday when Folgueiras hit a 3-pointer in the final 4.5 seconds to edge Florida 73-72 in March Madness (the team overcame a 12-point deficit before rallying).

They will face No. 4 seed Nebraska on Thursday.
