  • Hancher Auditorium announced new details for the Stop/Time Festival on Friday, Apr. 3 and Saturday, Apr. 4. The event features guest authors, new performers and free community activities including a performance on Saturday (12:30 p.m. at UI’s Pentacrest) that brings together local artists and audiences.  The Gazette
  • Think Iowa City Restaurant Week runs Feb. 16–23 with 17 restaurants offering special menus in local areas. The event is part of Foodie February, and non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the Think Iowa City office or at participating restaurants.  The Gazette
  • Claude, a sleek French lounge, opened Jan. 10 at 215 N. Linn St. in Iowa City and serves craft cocktails and French small plates from 3 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Sunday (reservations accepted for parties of six or more) in an elegant 1870 building.  The Gazette

  • The Iowa City Community School District board questioned its leadership after a recent $10 million loan from the health insurance fund was taken without prior board notification, prompting plans to cut $5–6 million from the 2027 budget and review oversight policies in a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24.  Iowa City Press-Citizen
