ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Experts at Solon Library presented US Geological Survey data showing the Silurian Aquifer is being drained faster than it refills in Johnson County as local demand rises from residents and industry. Lawmakers allocated $250,000 to study water resources to help guide future usage.  KCRG

  • Iowa lawmakers are weighing bills to help more schools develop cardiac emergency plans after Saydel Community School District earned national recognition for its heart safety measures in 2025.
