Iowa lawmakers proposed bills to change public university rules by shortening regent terms, removing student votes, banning campus land acknowledgments, and restricting DEI courses and Chinese H-1B hires (some changes will take effect later this year and in 2027 or beyond).

Iowa City is accepting applications until Jan.

30 for a ten-week Climate Ambassador training starting Feb. 10 that teaches residents climate science through online modules and weekly in-person and online group meetings. Participants will spend 2-3 hours weekly connecting with peers and city officials.
