"The Kid is by long odds the best motion picture comedy ever made. It has more than humor; it has tenderness and literary charm."—Harry Carr, Los Angeles Times “While it will move people to uproarious laughter and keep them in a state of uneasing delight, it also will touch their hearts.”—Variety The Kid, Chaplin's first full-length feature, is a silent masterpiece about a little tramp who discovers a little orphan and brings him up but is left desolate when the orphanage reclaims him. In A Dog’s Life, The Tramp rescues a stray from other dogs, and together they meet Edna, a dance hall singer, after finding a wallet full of cash.
